On March 14, the Edwin M. Lee Asian Pacific Democratic Club joined the Chinese American Democratic Club and the Rose Pak Asian American Club to host the Asian American Community Congressional Candidates Forum at Victory Hall in Chinatown.
More than 200 community members attended the bilingual forum to hear from candidates Saikat Chakrabarti, Connie Chan, Marie Hurabiell, and Scott Wiener as they discussed issues including housing, immigration, and foreign policy.
We were proud to help bring together organizations with different perspectives to create a respectful space where the Asian American community could hear directly from the candidates and ask questions about the future of San Francisco and the country.

San Francisco’s Chinese and Asian American civic organizations are hosting a joint candidate forum for the upcoming congressional race. The event will bring together candidates to speak directly with community members and discuss issues impacting San Francisco’s Asian American communities.
This event is structured as a candidate forum, not a debate. Each candidate will be asked the same set of questions, which will be moderated by members of the Asian language media. The discussion will focus primarily on local issues affecting San Francisco, including topics of importance to the Asian American community.
This is a free event and open to the public. Community members, voters, and local leaders are encouraged to attend and hear directly from the candidates.
